Our 10 year anniversary!

Of course the sun is making it's grand appearance and we've got as much air conditioning that we can take but the topic on everyone's lips here at JMP isn't BBQ's - it's pantomime!

This year is our 10 year anniversary production at Lincoln Drill Hall and we are so excited to be producing Jack and the Beanstalk for the second time! We have a fair few surprises up our sleeves and we can't wait until you see them...

Make sure you book your tickets as soon as possible to avoid disappointment!

If you follow us on our social media pages you will now be aware that we have had a whole month in June full of castings for principal roles and principle dancers!

We'd like to thank everyone that auditioned - you were all fabulous.

We are delighted to tell you that we have succesfully cast Jack and the Beanstalk and we will be announcing our cast with you soon!

Unfortunately, we cannot accept any more applications or CVs but thank you for your interest!

Happy New Year

Well it's a Happy New Year from everyone at JMP and we are already planning for the rest of 2017! Our calendars for this year are starting to fill up...

So with our Lincoln pantomime already confirmed and on sale at the Drill Hall, we begin to get more aquainted with sets and costumes. We are already 65% sold out with the school performances too which has put us in the best starting position for January!

Sure, cleaning is not the most glamourous job, but once it's done, everyone's happy! We have washed, steamed and ironed all costumes that have been worn over panto season ready for their future appearances, wherever that may be...

Our merchandise for this years' panto is also now sorted in advance - we know how much you all love a glow in the dark wand!

Our wardrobe consultants are gathering together costumes and props for all of our forthcoming hires! We are hoping to have everything ready for all birthday parties and adult event hires at the end of March.

Keep checking our social media sites for any special offers and our monthly hire costume at a discounted price!

Look out...

Make sure you guys all keep your eyes peeled for any early advertising in the centre of Lincoln!

Beauty and the Beast - Lincoln Drill Hall

If you haven't already gathered, we opened our production of the absolutely fabulous Beauty and the Beast on 9 Dec 2016! We had a great run even with illnessess taking their toll on most of the cast and crew who still worked their socks off and rocked it! We still can't quite believe that we sold out to more than 14,500 audience members! Our school shows were brilliant with all our little audiences members being the loudest we've ever had and leaving the theatre with the biggest smiles on their faces! We couldn't have done it without any of you.

Thank you to all who made it such an amazing production... here's to 2017 Christmas panto, Jack and the Beanstalk!

Meeting somewhere in the middle...

We loved loved loved the fact that our wonderful Peter Pan cast of Skegness and Retford travelled all the way to Lincoln on their day off to see our lovely Lincoln lot do their thing at the Drill Hall!

We can imagine that they enjoyed themselves by the looks on their faces... and what little diamonds they are for taking the time to catch a photo of the two casts together!

(This was the only time they met throughout the panto season!)

Lots of love all round!

Peter Pan - Skegness & Retford

Finally we kicked off our magical adventure to Neverland on 16 Dec 2016 at the Embassy Theatre for just over a week's run and then travelled to the Majestic Theatre for opening night on 31 Dec! Our guys didn't stop working their hardest and they never stopped smiling! Troopers!

The picture to the left, is taken at Hildred's Shopping Centre, Skegness and the jolly fellow on the far right is the great Steve Andrews who actually designed and created all of the set you see behind them!!! WOW.

Massive congrats to all who worked on this panto - it was fabulous!

We've been switching on some Christmas lights this month...

Christmas Lights Beauty & the Beast - Lincoln 2016

On 17th November, we wrapped up very warm and set off to switch on the Christmas Lights! Gustave made his appearance outside Waterside, along with the a couple of the cast members from New Theatre Royal panto, the Mayor and Mayoress and paralympian Sophie Wells. The event went smoothlty with Santa's feet being the magic button for switch on this year! The turn out was incredible and everyone joined in the countdown to begin Christmas!

Beauty and Prince Andre travelled over to St Marks where they sang the classic Beauty and the Beast (Tale As Old As Time) and just to get us into the festive spirit, Winter Wonderland, of course! After the lights were switched on, all characters made their way to the Waterside Shopping Centre to sign autographs and meet and greet. Beauty, Prince Andre and Gustave had a very warm welcome and really enjoyed meeting the wonderful people of Lincoln. They say that they can't wait to begin rehearsals!

Christmas Lights Peter Pan - Skegness 2016

Very recently, on the eve of 24th November, the JMP team drove to the wonderful Skegness to give the place a Christmassy touch! Smee and Captain Hook ruled the streets on the main walk behind the parade and sang along to the festive tunes when they arrived on stage! They then switched on the Christmas lights along with Santa Claus and the mayor!

After a lovely cuppa and a mince pie or two, Smee and Captain Hook thought it was time to set sail... So they both got back on the ship and will see you all again on 16th December at The Embassy Theatre where they begin their pantomime run!

Rehearsals - Day 1 - Beauty & the Beast 24/11

*sung to the tune of 'A Partridge in a Pear Tree*

On the 24th day of November, rehearsals for panto starts... with 12 x theatre people, 11 x cups of coffee, 10 x days to go, 9 x spare pencils, 8 x extra scripts, 7 x pairs of glasses, 6 x panto actors,

5 x inside jokes!!! 4 x backstage members, 3 x long tables, 2 x senior dancers and a director who loves panto!!

It's all about the panto launches...

Beauty and the Beast - Lincoln Panto Launch 2016

We had the greatest time at the start of October at Lincoln Drill Hall for our panto launch. The Lincoln Minster School brought lots of energy and magic to the cast's short performance and even by the looks on their faces, the Mayor, Sherrif and other dignitories were enjoying themselves from start to finish! As per usual, after lots of interviews and filming, too much coffee and cake were consumed, but all for a good cause! Our interviews and great write ups can be heard/seen by the Lincolnite, Lincolnshire Echo, Siren FM and BBC Radio Lincolnshire.

Catch us next at Lincoln's Christmas Lights switch on, this November 17th where the Beast, Gustave and Beauty will be waiting...

Peter Pan - Panto Launch Skegness 2016

September was the month of our first panto launch this year, with Peter Pan at The Embassy Theatre, Skegness. The Viking Prepatory School were in awe from beginning to end and their involvement and enthusiasm throughout, made the short performance very enjoyable for all. We had great write ups published the following week from Lincolnshire Echo and Skegness Standard. As all visitors enjoyed a buffet spread, the cast and crew headed out around town for some promo filming. We covered the beach, the pier, Skegness Aquarium and the mini village where although our actors are dressed up, not one person in Skegness questioned it! Please visit our Facebook to see our promo video!

Join us for Skegness' Christmas Lights switch on outside Hildreds on 24th November, where Santa's grotto has had a Peter Pan makeover and Captain Hook and Pirate Smee will be waiting to greet you with big smiles!!

Peter Pan - Panto Launch Retford 2016

Our final and most recent panto launch was here at the Retford Majestic Theatre. Our actors Adam Fox and Gary Starr appeared in full costume as Pirate Smee and Captain Hook, entertaining all on the streets of Retford. After a quick tour of the wonderful theatre and a photoshoot throughout the town, cast and crew went LIVE on Facebook for an informal interview! If you haven't seen it already, catch it on our Facebook page.
